Guatemala El Gigante – Yellow Bourbon from our Coffee Research Plantation

With Guatemala El Gigante (Palo de Rabo), we present an exceptional Specialty Coffee that is the result of intensive research, sustainable cultivation, and passionate partnership. On the small research plantation "Palo de Rabo" of Finca El Gigante in the New Oriente region, cultivated by the Suchini family, the premium Yellow Bourbon thrives under ideal conditions: At 1,650 meters above sea level, in the shade of native forests, the coffee cherries unfold their full potential – a commitment to quality and sustainability.

The wet-processed (washed) Yellow Bourbon variety impresses with a medium roast that harmoniously highlights the complex, sweet aromas of brown sugar, vanilla, and honeydew melon. The medium body ensures a balanced mouthfeel, while the targeted cupping score of over 90 points distinguishes the coffee as absolute top quality.

Each bean comes from selective harvesting between January and April – hand-picked from just 0.80 hectares. Since 2020, a close partnership has connected us with the Suchini family, who are breaking new ground in sustainable coffee cultivation together with us.

Zubereitung: 50g Wasser aufgießen und 30 Sek. bloomen lassen. Wiederholung (50g Wasser aufgießen, 30 Sek. bloomen lassen), anschließend restliches Wasser (200g) in 20-30 Sek. aufgießen. Gesamte Brühzeit: 2:30 – 2:45 Min., Trinktemperatur: 50-55°C.

Tipp: Wenn der Kaffee etwas zu lange läuft, etwas gröber mahlen.
