Austrian Barista Championships - Mario Felix Liebold was a judge

Österreichische Baristameisterschaften-Mario Felix Liebold war als Juror dabei

An international jury with judges from Austria, Switzerland, Norway, and Germany had the task of evaluating the participants in the disciplines of Barista, Latte Art, Coffee in Good Spirits, Cezve/Ibrik, and Brewers Cup. After 3 long days, we finally found the right champions. What's special: the World Championships are taking place in Vienna this year. Thus, the winners in the Barista, Cezve/Ibrik, and Brewers Cup competitions have the honor of representing their country in front of a home crowd. A once-in-a-lifetime honor! And here are the winners:

In the same room as the championships, the first Roaster&Barista event in Austria was held. Following the model of the Hamburg event, which was launched last year by Quijote Kaffee and Röstbar in Münster, an espresso and brew bar was also operated in Graz. Many different specialty coffees from various roasters in the German-speaking area were prepared by international baristas for the public and offered for tasting.

Enough space for enjoyment – the diversity of coffee was the focus: the taste difference of preparation methods and coffee varieties was to be highlighted equally, with advice and information exchange between baristas, roasters, and the public clearly taking precedence. The Brewbar was ultimately a complete success!
